Age Concern Eastbourne: DWBL award £600
An exciting new music project open to all ages, ukulele lessons for all levels followed by jamming session
There will be five course for beginners and five for improvers, and each class will be for up to 12 students, each run by a professional tutor. The groups will be open to all, no prior experience will be required and there will be no auditions. The programme will span a range of musical genres, providing participants with opportunities to express their musical preferences and for people to explore music from across the generations.
After the lessons, there will be ukulele jamming sessions for anyone to come along and enjoy, and there will be regular performances at the Venton Centre or elsewhere in the local community.
The lessons will take place on Thursday evenings, 5.30 to 6.15pm for beginners and and 6.30 to 7.15pm for improvers. The café will also be open for cheap, nutritious refreshments.
Charge: £3.50/lesson; £2.50 for those on benefits, over 65s and under 16s.
